5 Minute Cheesy Garlic Bread

Ingredients
- 80 g 2¾ oz unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic
- 1 tbsp finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- 1 tsp sea salt flakes
- 1 baguette cut into thick 1.5 cm (½ inch) slices
- 1½ cups 225 g grated melting cheese (see note 1) (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven grill (broiler).
- Make the garlic butter – Melt the butter in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it softens (it will take roughly 20 seconds).
- Mix in the garlic, parsley and salt using a spoon.
- Spread the butter on the bread – Spread the butter mixture on one side of the bread slices.
- Add the cheese – Top each slice with the grated cheese, if using.
- Grill (broil) – Place your bread on a baking tray (use two trays if needed so that no pieces overlap). Grill (broil) for 2–5 minutes. The bread will cook quickly so keep an eye on it.
- Serve – Serve immediately.
